The name Judde can probably be traced back to the patrician Judde family from Cologne.
There are dark legends about the Juddeturm. The tower was probably used as a dungeon in the past.
The prisoners were locked in the extremely narrow tunnel-like tower, into which very little light comes. The old walls of the Juddeturm date back to the 14th century.
