The small, tiled building was probably built in the 13th century from unevenly layered field stones and bricks. A wooden roof turret was removed in the 19th century because it was in disrepair.

The Protestant parish has belonged to the Pasewalk provostship in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany since 2012. Before that, it belonged to the Greifswald church district of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church.

The interior has a flat ceiling and on the east wall there is a sacrament niche with a wooden door from the 16th century. The winter church is located under a gallery.

The altar with enclosure, the pulpit with adjoining preacher's pew and the west gallery were made in 1780. The two votive naves are copies of the originals from 1770 and 1825, which are in the museum in Wolgast. The organ was made in 1856 by the Kaltschmidt company from Stettin, the facade is in neo-renaissance style.
