"Remaining abutments of the former Fritz Schweitzer Bridge at kilometer 13.16 of the Teltow Canal. The road bridge in Berlin-Lichterfelde, sometimes also called the Wupper Bridge, led the Wupperstrasse from Schönow to Teltow until it was blown up by the German Wehrmacht at the end of World War II After the failure of a first attack in the Lichterfelde area, the 1st Ukrainian Front under Marshal Konew succeeded in building the first bridge over the canal at the Fritz Schweitzer Bridge on April 24, 1945; at noon the Soviet tanks reached Zehlendorf-Süd (... ). "
