The fish illustrates the positive evolution of the Demer as a beautiful biotope. Just as the title 'Demerdromen' appeals to the imagination, the sculpture stimulates the imagination. Everyone can fantasize their own story with the image.

Artwork by Maarten Ceulemans, cast by bronze caster Luc De Blick. You are here in the Amerstraat, a smaller street that runs parallel to the Demer. And that says a lot about the context of the work called 'Demerdromen'. At the end of the Amerstraat you can also see the site of the 's Hertogenmolen from a different perspective, namely the other side of the Demer. And from the statue you can see the Church of Our Lady.
