This limestone cross was erected in 1819 to commemorate the death of the wife of the castellan of the Haut Marais, who died at this location after falling from her horse.
Inscription:
"MADAME DE BEHR NEE VIcTOIRE DE NOUS WIFE OF MR
LE CHEVALIER DE BEHR DE HAUT MARAIS LAQEL DIED ON 16) BRE 1819; RIP"

Here the hiker comes across a small, well-preserved sacred monument. Considering its proud age of more than two centuries, the stone wayside cross - strictly speaking a memorial cross (Bernd has already quoted the dedication inscription in his text) - is very well preserved, and the carved characters in particular show no signs of weathering. Due to the large inscription, there is no room for the body of the crucified Christ.

Or the Vertbuisson cross in limestone. An old cross from 1819 commemorating "Madame De Behr," wife of the then Duke of Haut Marais, who died here after a fall from her horse.
