The Algunder Waalweg begins at the Töllgraben bridge below the district of Plars (there is also a hiker's car park here) and leads to Merano. Once you have arrived in the Merano district of Gratsch, it is possible to continue the approximately one and a half hour hike on the Tappeinerweg to the center of the spa town of Merano. From Merano you can take the bus back to the start of the hike in around 15 minutes.

Please be respectful when you walk under the vine arbors with the many grapes. They are part of the local farmers' source of income.

Even if you say: "Well, I only picked 3-4 grapes" - think about how many people walk past there every day / week / in the harvest month of September? If everyone only takes 3-4 grapes, there won't be anything left to harvest. If you really want grapes, then go to the market or supermarket, they don't cost much there.
