The Chapel of the Cross, nestled amidst mighty spruce and pine trees, has been a historic tourist destination since 1877. Built entirely of wood, the cross-shaped chapel (hence its name) is located at an elevation of 552 meters on the Brunnenberg. From 1911 to 1959, and again since German reunification, forest services and devotions were held here regularly. The wooden altar with the crucifix dates from 1926 and was created by the Adorf sculptor Ernst Curt Lenk (1895 to 1993).

The Kreuzkapelle on Brunnenberg was built in 1877 amidst mighty spruce and pine trees at an altitude of 552 meters above sea level. Their name derives from their basic form of a cross. Built in the quiet of the forest, it is still a popular resting place for hikers and a place of quiet devotion for believers.

In 1926, the art sculptor E.C. Lenk from Adorf built a simple altar decorated with a crucifix he had created. Forest services were held here regularly from 1911 to 1959. Since German reunification, the Kreuzkapelle has once again been used for devotions

Really nice wooden chapel. Inside and outside the walls are covered with bark.
However, a hammer climb leads to this beautiful place.
