The burned down houses were quickly replaced by new buildings. In this context, the extension for the town hall was built as early as 1909.

In 1610 it fell victim to a fire and was immediately rebuilt. The house received the tower with the clock in 1641. The old town hall was destroyed in the great city band of 1802. It was not until the 1840s that it was rebuilt. The current neo-Gothic building, with its striking square tower and pinnacles (Gothic pointed turrets), was rebuilt in the years 1840-1842 and supplemented in 1909 by an extension that now houses the large meeting room and other rooms.
