The Polish architect Kazimierz Kwiatkowski saved numerous monuments in Vietnam, which are now on the UNESCO World Heritage List. He is responsible for the renovation and preservation of the historical city "Hội An". In his honor, the square bears his name.

It looks like a monument to Luke Skywalker, but it commemorates Kazimierz Kwiatkowski (1944–1997), a Polish architect and conservationist known for his significant contributions to the preservation of Vietnamese cultural heritage sites. His work included the restoration of historical sites such as the Imperial City of Hue, the Old Town of Hoi An, and the Champa ruins of My Son. Kwiatkowski, also known as "Kazik," was a key figure in saving numerous Vietnamese monuments and contributed to the protection of these UNESCO World Heritage sites.
