The Gate Castle is a Renaissance building on the edge of the old town of Tettnang. The castle-like building ensemble was formerly part of the city fortifications, served at times as the residence of the Counts of Montfort, as a school and today houses the city museum and the city archives as well as the electronics museum. The stepped gables that dominate Bärenplatz and Montfortstrasse make the gate lock particularly representative.
