For those interested in more remains of the second city wall: the city text about the 3 locks on zoutleeuw.be/waterpoort--3-sluizen mentions more locations and they are indeed all 3 there: in the garden of the OCMW (the old hospital) and at the town hall (the “Heksenkot”, see also the highlight "Villa Fineau"). The footpath that starts at the water gate in the direction of Koepoortstraat was also probably constructed on the foundations of this 2nd wall.

On my second visit I was able to take a bit more time to look around. And you can still see some parts of the second city wall (remains of stones) in some places.
