With the rough channel, the old arm "Theewinkel" was integrated again into the water course of the Aller. This promotes both the structural and ecological objectives of the Water Framework Directive and the conservation objectives of the Fauna-Flora-Habitat Directive of the EU.

The conversion of the surrounding area (renaturation) has been completed and the Aller cycle path is open again!
The reason for the work was the restoration of a natural river landscape in the area of the Allerwehr weir there. A new additional river bed was created, so to speak, with a fish ladder and connection to an existing, old Allerarm.
The course of the Aller cycle path was changed in this area due to the renaturation.
