The café is located in the premises of the old Villa Funcke, also known as Niedernhof. The building dates back to the 19th century and was the residence of the entrepreneurial family Funcke, who worked in iron and steel processing. The building is made of solid Ruhr sandstone - typical of the Ruhrgebiet. The café is only open on weekends and only in good weather. From 2 to 6 pm, you can treat yourself to a little break with a view of Lake Hengsteysee.

A touch of castle romance, as one would actually expect more on the middle Rhine or on the Moselle. A stylish building in a wonderful forest location directly on the lake shore with a small island in front. A place to dream. Ideal place to take a break on a hike or bike tour, beautiful backdrop for photos. Geologically interesting rock formations.
