The new Catholic church was built in 1910-11, outside the completely preserved medieval city walls. In Wittstock, a mission house with a Catholic school had existed on Kirchgasse since 1859, but this was not successful due to the frequent absence and frequent changes of priests.
It was not until 1905 that a priest lived here again. Max Lipka (1908-15) was the builder of the church, which was consecrated on July 2, 1911. This is a building designed by the Wittstock architect Bell in neo-classical style with a bell-shaped tower cap and a barrel-vaulted coffered ceiling.
