The church was built at the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th century as a single-nave granite block. In the last days of the war, probably around March 20, 1945, German pioneers blew up the church tower, which fell into the nave. In 1998 the church ruins were secured.
The bell can be found in a rack outside the church.

The chessboard stone is located in the northeast corner and is very easy to see. The information board provides further information and theories about the medieval chessboard stones on the fieldstone churches

In the ruins there are very interesting information boards, also to the event 1945.
At the church you can also find a chessboard. Checkerboard is to be found on granite quasern churches of the 13th and occasionally 14th centuries. Their purpose is still unclear.
