The cobbled streets of the lively center are home to quaint shops and well-known brands, as well as elegant cafes, upscale restaurants and traditional pubs. There are several bars around the inland port as well as cultural institutions such as cinemas and the Muziekgieterij, a music venue.
The Sint-Servaasbrug over the Meuse is a pedestrian bridge from the 13th century.
