To the west of the road that runs through the protected landscape area are the lookout point and one of the flagpoles. From the lookout point, there are magnificent views over the rolling countryside and distant church steeples; a landscape known as the Valley of Berwinne and the Plateau de Herve—also a former battlefield.

In the far east of the municipality of Aubel lies the rural and green hamlet of "La Clouse" where the Berwijn rises. From the La Clouse school parking lot, a small, beautiful, steep, shaded path leads directly to the American Cemetery. Conversely, it is certainly worthwhile to see the sights of the hamlet and enjoy that vast landscape.
