St. Catherine's Church in Schwäbisch Hall was founded around 1240 by the Barons of Westheim and built on the foundations of a previous church that had been here since around 900. At the end of the 19th century, the church was completely rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style. The interior was last redesigned in the 1960s.
The lower part of the tower dates back to the late Romanesque period.

The Protestant Parish Church of St. Catherine is a sacred building in Schwäbisch Hall, located to the left of the Kocher River. Until 1404, it was a branch of Westheim, and until 1526, it was under the patronage of the Murrhardt Monastery. In 1405, it became an independent parish church and, with the Reformation in 1526, came into the possession of the city of Hall.
