The Ebrach Cistercian abbot Hieronymus Held had the parish church built between 1748 and 1751. The previous church was demolished, only the church tower from 1615 remained standing. The abbot commissioned well-known artists to build and furnish the church, e.g. B. Balthasar Neumann.

The abbot of the Ebrach monastery, Hieronymus II Held, had the hall church with a hipped roof built between 1748 and 1751 with the participation of Balthasar Neumann. Only the church tower from 1615 remained from the previous church, which stands in the south of the nave with a three-sided end in the east. It is divided into three floors by cornices; the top floor houses the belfry behind the sound arcades, in which four church bells hang.
