Nice view upstream. Here every year but on consecutive weekends the Dragon Boat Race takes place. On one weekend start the pupils of the Wittener schools, on the other the adults. The whole thing is a huge spectacle with great costumes and the camps of the participants between the Schärterhaus and the home of the Kanuclub are worth seeing.

Around the Lake Bridge, the customs house, the Picasso barbecue hut and the bistro in the Sonnenschein distillery are all home to several opportunities for food and liquid cheese intake. Also beautiful are the founding villa on the grounds of Fa. Lohmann as well as the half-timbered houses between Lake Bridge and the museum railway line. If you turn right in front of the railroad crossing into the Von-Elverfeldt-Allee you will reach the lovely house Herbede very quickly.
