This is where the border between Wimsheim ("W") and Mönsheim ("M") runs. The Paulinensee is significantly younger than the boundary stones. Accordingly, it can be assumed that the boundary stones once stood in the stream that runs along here.
Today the Paulinensee is located in the Wimsheim district (see "Google Maps"). Since the lake is closer to Mönsheim than to Wimsheim, it is usually counted as part of Mönsheim.
