Right next to the Skywalk, a staircase descends several floors into the Kues district. From there, it's just a few meters to the historic center of Bernkastel. There's NO shade along the entire route!

The shortest way from the Kueser Plateau to Kues; if you have knee problems, you better take another way. Uphill exhausting but very good to go; nice view of the Mosel and the castle Landshut above Bernkastel.

The stairs are miles long and lead through the vineyard down to Kues (and back up again). But the view is beautiful.
