Founded in the 13th century place had a parish church. The Petersdorfer church, which stood opposite the rectory, had to be demolished in 1912 because of dilapidatedness. Today, there is an 11-meter high bell tower, which was inaugurated for the Thanksgiving Festival 2005.

In the Uckermark / Petersdorf an unusual school project took place. The result is a peace monument.
In the rondel excavated by the students a map of Europe is inserted as a mosaic. It features 16 black stones scattered throughout France and the former Soviet Union - the places where the Petersdorf men fell in the two world wars. The plate of the old war memorial is built into one of the four new metal steles surrounding the mosaic circle, commented on by peace phrases from the Bible and by well-known personalities.
