Ootmarsum, the art city of the east of the Netherlands, is always worth a visit.
Especially for art lovers. In the picturesque streets you will find up to 15 galleries with a diverse selection of paintings, fine art and modern glass art.
Ootmarsum, which seems almost fairytale-like and medieval, has many listed, historic half-timbered houses and buildings in the town center.
Modern shops, cozy restaurants and cafes invite you to stop in and linger.
The Othmar Herberg brewery would also be a worthwhile destination for a visit, followed by a relaxing stay in the beer spa.

On the last Thursday in July and the first two Thursdays in August, the "Siepelmarkt", which is well-known and popular in the Twente region, takes place in Ootmarsum. At this traditional event with old crafts and culture, the beautiful, historic old town center of Ootmarsum is transformed into a cozy market. Interesting stalls in picturesque streets and alleys with old crafts, with regionally produced goods and agricultural products, surprising performances, original musicians and restaurants and cafes with cozy terraces invite young and old to visit.
