The enchanting pilgrimage church of Maria Strassengel with its pointed, filigree tower is enthroned high above the town of Straßengel. Not only a fantastic view awaits you on the Kirchberg, but also an inn. You can cycle up the street directly or you can hike up one of the crossroads.

The church was built between 1346 and 1366.
In 1455, construction began on the 120m long fortifications to protect against the Ottomans.
In the Baroque period, the church was expanded to include the late Gothic churchyard gate and bell tower.
1494 The former provost's building is now used as a rectory.
1592 The tavern (called the Kaiserbräu) is built - in 1693, Emperor Leopold I stayed overnight.
In the 17th century, the "Prelate's House" was built with a late Gothic core.
In 1788, the building was threatened with desecration and demolition, and in 1789 the plan was averted.
