The start or the end of the famous Kungsleden. Even if you don't go the 430 km long way, it is a very special feeling to go through this gate.
The STF Abisko Mountain Station has very nice employees who are happy to provide information about the national park. There is also great illustrative material. Open until 5 p.m. during the season. Season ends on September 27th, 2020.

One of the largest STF facilities with numerous holiday homes and overnight accommodation with multi-bed rooms and an excellently equipped communal kitchen. There is also a tent area in the birch forest (bare floor, tent erection difficult) with its own sanitary building, but only a tiny and spartan kitchen. Unlike the other STF facilities along the Kungsleden, tenters are apparently rather undesirable here. The prices are generally very high.
