The oldest representation of the Preimskirche in Bad Gastein has a rectangular nave and a pointed gable tent roof, with a roof turret on its north side, which has a four-sided pointed helmet. The legend of the discovery of the hot springs in 680 connects them with the two saints Primus and Felizian, who are said to have lived here as hermits and who also became the patrons of this church. In the vernacular, the church has always been called Preimskirche, which is the German translation of Primus.
