Rader Insel is an artificial island in the Kiel Canal east of Rendsburg. It extends from the eponymous Rade b. Rendsburg to Schacht-Audorf and Borgstedt in the southwest. The larger northeast part of the island belongs to the municipality of Rade, the smaller southwest part to the neighboring municipality of Schacht-Audorf. A small part in the extreme southwest belongs to Borgstedt.
The island is privately owned. You can walk over the bridge to the island, but then everything will soon be closed - too bad.

You can easily drive over the bridge to Rader Island - but then not much further because the island is privately owned - unfortunately all other paths are closed to the public.
The original wooden bridge to Rader Island had to be replaced in 1952 because its load-bearing capacity limited the delivery of bricks.
From the bridge you have the best views of the Audorfer Lake and the Rader motorway bridge.
