The statue at the Foia Summit depicts Belgian national Remco Evenepoel winning a cycling stage on that very spot during the “Volta ao Algarve 2020”. Evenepoel won the Tour of the Algarve in 2020, 2022 and 2024. He won Olympic gold in Paris in 2024 and is regarded as the best time trialist of his generation. What foresight!
