Potholes are formed by meltwater that flows through crevasses and especially glacial mills towards the bed of the glacier.
This meltwater combines into streams and forms eddies in certain places.
Flow speeds of up to 200 km/h and high pressure prevail in these eddies.
The sand and gravel particles that are carried along do the main work of eroding the rock bed.

Dağ bisikleti
These glacial pots were created by the meltwater that flowed under the ice on the rock surface. In some sections of the route, such meltwater runoffs can reach up to 200 km / h. This creates local eddies that mill out these deep funnel-like structures, not least because they carry sand and gravel. The theory that an erratic boulder in the water is working out the glacier pots like a millstone is now disproved. After the glacier retreated, the large block remained and may not have changed its position to this day.
