The Hamburg Architects and Engineers Association (AIV), rich in tradition, named the crossing the building of the year 2013. The new Baakenhafen district is growing. At some point, when this part of HafenCity is finished, a new district will be built here. The new buildings are for my taste too angular and tight. However, it is always spectacular what happens here. The Baakenbrücke is already completed. Here you can settle down and take in the magnificent view of the harbor.

Interesting bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. There are terraced seating on the bridge. From there you have a fantastic view of the Elbe towards the harbor.
