The Sea War Museum in Thyborøn is impressive and thought-provoking at the same time.
The Battle of the Skagerrak took place off the coast in 1916. Here 25 ships were sunk and about 8,645 Navy soldiers lost their lives.

The Sea War Museum Jutland in Thyborøn is the only museum in Denmark where only international history is told.
The focus is on World War I, out in the North Sea, where the world's largest naval battle, the Battle of Skagerrak, took place off the west coast of Jutland in 1916.
A good 100 kilometers west of Thyborøn, 100,000 men on 250 German and British ships fought for supremacy at sea. The thunder of the cannons was so violent that it could be heard even on land.
