Very extensive language border municipality of 2629 hectares and 2600 inhabitants (1989), part of the municipality of Heuvelland since 1977. Located in Zandlemig-Flanders and the Westhoek. Strongly undulating relief, ranging from 27 meters in the north to 85 meters in the village center. Predominantly fertile and well-drained sandy loam and loam soils. There remains another 80 hectares of forest, including Padhoek, Kroonaerd and Kapelleriehoek forest. Several streams: the Wijtschate and Diependaalbeek flow into the Ijzer basin; the Roze, the Wam and the Blauwepoortbeek belong to the Leie basin; the Stuiver and Steenbeek to the Douve basin.

Yürüyüş

Wijtschate is a village in the Belgian province of West Flanders and a sub-municipality of Heuvelland, it was an independent municipality until the municipal reorganization of 1977. The village is known for the restored location of Bayernwald, which keeps the memory of the First World War alive.
