Meanwhile, the "Blue Temple" is no longer unknown and here are numerous visitors to be found, yet a wonderful alternative to the overcrowded white temple. In addition, for free!

Another colorful highlight in Chiang Rai this time in blue the temple complex Wat Rong Sear Tean. Not far from the highway and far less crowded than the White Temple. Very nice.

Construction only started in 2005. Has nothing to do with old temple culture in Thailand. No wonder you don't see any monks here either. Also no accommodation for monks. For me pure tourist fun, especially tailored to the tourists from China. money machine. Concrete and steel are still poured into molds and painted with blue paint. Of course it looks great - but it's Disneyland for me.
