Obernai in the heart of Alsace is located directly on the Alsace Wine Route, at the foot of Mount Odilienberg, 25 km from Strasbourg and on the edge of the large agricultural plain with its sauerkraut fields. The town is a member of the association "Les Plus Beaux Détours de France", which brings together smaller tourist destinations that are a little off the main roads but are worth a detour. Obernai plays an important role in tourism in Alsace and is the second most visited town in the Bas-Rhin department.
