Domein Bokrijk is a former country estate that is now used as an amusement park. It is known as the seat of the open air museum of the Belgian region of Flanders. In addition, it houses u. a. a historic castle, an arboretum and an open-air stage.

The Bokrijklaan crosses the entire Bokrijk area and runs from the Hasseltweg in Genk to the Zavelvennestraat in Hasselt (near Zonhoven). For the most part, this road is traffic-free, except from the Hasseltweg to the large parking lot for the Bokrijk domain (where the Bokrijk station also stops). The avenue runs through the castle park, in front of the castle, past the open-air museum and the arboretum, and is shaded for almost its entire distance by the trees planted along the road.
