In 1822 Otto von Arnim commissioned the landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné to create the Criewener Landschaftspark. In the park are both the castle and the today plastered stone church from the 13th Century, which was then at this point still in the village.

Between 1816 and 1826, on the initiative of the landowner Otto von Arnim in Criewen demolished the old village and rebuilt further east.
This created space for the creation of a landscape park, which was designed by the landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné. In the center of the park are the reconstructed castle and the village church.
The 9-hectare park is well preserved and invites with its rare trees such as bald cypress, summer linden and plane trees for walks.
