The magical blue Lac de Moiry is beautifully embedded between the Garde de Bordon (3,310 meters), the Corne de Sorebois (2,896 meters) and the Sasseneire (3,254 meters) in the Valais Alps. The reservoir is used to generate energy and is just beautiful to look at.

In the background you can already see the Moiry Glacier in its full size as it glides down several steep steps into the valley. A magnificent serac zone with crevices has formed above every steep step and high, multi-step side moraines can be seen on both sides. The melt river that feeds the Lac de Moiry rises from the glacier tongue. Several craggy rock peaks rise from the ice sheet of the glacier and the Grand Cornier towers over the whole area with its 3960 m. (Source: Wikinger Reisen)
