The Kalte Staude is a group of two beech trees on the St2195, coming from Braunersreuth, which have been registered as a natural monument since 1960. The two 300-year-old trees have hollow trunks, but are still stable and regularly sprout new shoots in the crowns. The name "Kalte Staude" probably has the meaning of a border. These terms are often found in northeast Bavaria. The two distinctive trees are a symbol of the region and an attractive natural monument.
