The gable bay window, which can be seen from afar, was built in 1597. The Pilatushaus was badly damaged by an aerial mine during World War II, but was rebuilt in its old form before the end of the war. It is now leased to the Old Town Friends of Nuremberg.

A corner figure between the sandstone ground floor and the half-timbered upper floor shows Saint George as the dragon slayer, the saint of knights and armorers. He was also the guild saint of the homeowner and plattner Hans Grünewald.
