Fort de Feyzin is part of the defense system created after the 1870 war by General Séré de Rivières. It was one of the detached forts responsible for defending the city of Lyon. Thanks to his guns, he had to prevent the approach of the city to an enemy coming from the plain of the east of Lyon. It is possible today to visit the fort. Fort Feyzin is a former military fort built after the war of 1870; there are several all around Lyon. The fort itself is open Monday to Saturday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. A loop by mountain bike, running or on foot and possible in the small woods that surround it, several fitness equipment are present on the route.
