A historic washhouse, part of an Arab irrigation system, once served as a meeting place and place for washing for the village community. Today, it is a popular stop for cyclists. Directly adjacent to the washhouse stands an impressive, over 100-year-old eucalyptus tree – Eucalyptus camaldulensis – planted in 1915 by Dr. Moratal, a physician and later mayor. At 37.25 meters tall and with a circumference of 6.12 meters, it is a landmark of the region. Despite a severe fire in August 2020, the tree is now experiencing new life and is surrounded by a protected area.
