The mechanical saw for cutting stones was installed in the substructure of the 'Sanctuary of Artemis'. It is a working replica of a device found in Gerasa. This is a device with a crankshaft system that converts the circular motion of a water wheel into the horizontal back and forth motion of the saw blades.
