Settled on the northern slope of the Sierra del Castañar, this town is the product of the union of Las Ventillas with Peña Aguilera in the 15th century. The economic activity has always been relatively varied as it has some granite quarries and is also a place of passage for travelers who crossed the Montes de Toledo. However, there is one activity that stands out above the rest, which is fur and leather work, with several workshops still in operation.

"Ventas" comes from "Las Ventillas" which was formerly located where the town is today. They were a small group of people who settled there and had small businesses. In the 15th century, the town of Las Ventillas merged with the older town of Peña Aguilera, giving rise to the town of Las Ventas with Peña Aguilera.
