The parish of Santa Maria Immacolata was built after the tragic and devastating bombings of the First World War had razed the pre-existing church to the ground. The majestic parish church, recognizable by its splendid salient façade with exposed bricks, has a single nave topped by a spectacular keeled wooden ceiling that recalls the upturned keel of a vessel. The elaborate false ceiling, despite not having a significant structural value, constitutes one of the most evocative elements of the solemn place of worship, capable with its elaborate texture of capturing attention and fascinating faithful and visitors.

Like all the churches in the area, the history of the parish church of Saletto is characterized by a long series of reconstructions and destructions linked to the terrible floods of the Piave, but the last great devastation was due to the fighting of the First World War. The original church was the result of a series of restorations and expansions begun by the parish priest Nicolò Pavan (1856-1869) and continued by his successor Don Giovanni De Faveri (1902-1915). The former commissioned a cycle of frescoes by Sebastiano Santi.
