The old town of Spangenberg was once surrounded by a city wall with nine city towers and gates. The only fully preserved defense tower, the Eulenturm, was completely renovated a few years ago. It can be accessed via a wooden staircase and visitors have a wonderful view of the entire city from its platform. The course of the former city wall can also be seen from there. A key can be picked up from the tourist information office in the Altstadtresidenz, Rathausstraße 7.

The city wall of Spangenberg was once surrounded by nine city towers and gates. The only tower that is still completely intact is the Owl Tower, built in 1566. The tower is 20m high and was renovated just a few years ago.
If you would like to climb the "Owl Tower" and enjoy the view, you can ask for the key at the Tourist and City Information Office in the Old Town Residence, Rathausstrasse 7.
