The former community center was actually used for administration, as there used to be a community room in every village, no matter how small.
The building is now used as a village house for festivals. There is a kitchen and toilets in it. The clock on the small tower still reliably shows the time and the bell chimes.

Until 2020, the tower housed a special feature: Hildburghausen's last bell. The following information is available:
The bell was demonstrably cast in 1565 by the Hildburghausen bell founder Christoph Heyder. He was likely the son of Paul Heyder, who practiced the same profession and had also cast a bell for the Hildburghausen town hall in 1514.

The last bell of Hildburghausen...
...was demonstrably cast in 1565 by the Hildburghausen bell founder Christoph Heyder. He is probably the son of Paul Heyder, who practiced the same profession and made a bell for the town hall in Hildburghausen in 1514. However, it fell victim to the melting of the bells during World War II.
