This small and secluded loch is extremely tranquil. It is surrounded by forest on three sides but opens up on the southwest banks and affords the perfect place to watch the sunset.

This is one of the Speyside forest lakes that have become a summer habitat for ospreys and a wintering destination for geese, golden-eyed ducks and swans. With no public car access, Loch Malachie's serene beauty is little disturbed by human activity.
