The Langass Woodlands project was set up to introduce woodland to the Outer Hebrides. Natively there are no woodlands. There is an ecological trail to follow (with ink-stamps to collect for the children) showing the wide range of trees and fauna.

The man-made forest is very unusual for the barren landscape of North Uist, but truly beautiful. With a little luck, you can see eagles and other birds of prey.

Langass Woodland is a community woodland on the island of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It is managed by Urras a Craobh Uibhist a Tuath (The North Uist Woodland Trust). It is one of the few places on the island where trees and wildlife can thrive, as North Uist has no native woodland. There is a walking trail through the woodland where you can enjoy the scenery and nature.
