Documented from 1476 late gothic residential tower, from 1497 - 1515 in the possession of Prince Rudolf of Anhalt. He was followed by bourgeois owners. Perhaps the house was therefore called since 1565 "Eepurg" or "oed castle" (= empty castle). The name does not go back to Duke Otto II of Andechs, who resided opposite in the old city castle.

The memorial, called Father and Son or Anno Nine, depicts two life size Tyrolean freedom fighters looking for the enemy. It was created by Christian Plattner on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Tyrolean freedom fight and erected in 1914 opposite the Inn Bridge, in front of the Ottoburg restaurant.
